STUDENT TRAVEL AWARD PROGRAM
Midwest SETAC has established a program to support student travel to our annual meeting. The purpose is to encourage student participation and help defray the cost of attending the annual meeting, and all students, including local Twin Cities-area students, are encouraged to apply.
A limited number of travel awards (up to approximately $250) will be made for this meeting. In addition, up to approximately $50 may be available to students from the local area.
Awards will be announced by the end of February 2017 and will be awarded directly to the students following submission of travel receipts.

BEST PAPER AND POSTER COMPETITION
The Midwest Chapter of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry is proud to hold a competition each year for the Best Student Platform and Poster Presentation at its annual Chapter meeting. Midwest SETAC has two generous donors that support the annual best paper and best poster presentations. The 3M Company and S.C. Johnson & Son have graciously provided cash awards of $1,000 for each category. The best student papers are determined by a panel of environmental scientists and are announced at the end of the Annual Meeting. Awards are made during the Business Meeting at the end of the annual meeting. The awards are to be used to defray costs to attend and present research results at the annual fall North America (NA) SETAC meeting. Awards may be used to attend other national meetings when joint chapter meetings are held. SC Johnson and 3M have provided funding for these awards, and the awards are given by each company on alternating years for the best paper/best poster. In the event that the first place winner cannot attend the meeting, the runner-up is given the option to attend the meeting to present either a platform talk or a poster.
Students apply for the competition when submitting their abstracts.
To Apply - Interested student applicants will opt-in with the online abstract submission (weblink will be posted when available)
