2017 Best Student Platform  A $1,000 award provided by SC Johnson as the supporter for the best platform paper at the 2017 North America SETAC meeting in November.

  • First Place:Lina Wang (St. Cloud State University), “Fathead Minnow Diaries: How a Multi-Generational Exposure to an Urban Contaminant of Emerging Concern Mixture Impacted Apical Endpoints”
  • Runner Up: Jon Doering, University of Saskatchewan, “In Vitro Function of the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor Predicts In Vivo Sensitivity of Oviparous Vertebrates to Dioxin-like Compounds”


2017 Best Student Poster:  A $1,000 award provided by 3M Corporation as the supporter of the award, and the award supports presenting the work at the 2017 North America SETAC meeting in November 

  • First Place: Amanda Stenzel, University of Wisconsin – La Crosse, “Does Triclosan Disrupt the Thyroid Hormone Axis in Zebrafish?”
  • Runner Up: Hannah Link, University of St. Thomas, “Novel Assessment of the Toxicity of Natural Water Impacted by Petroleum Hydrocarbons at the National Crude Oil Biodegradation and Natural Attenuation Research Site Near Bemidji, MN, USA”

2016 Best Student Platform:  A $1,000 award presented by Sue Beach, 3M (supporter of the award), and the award supports presenting the work at the 2016 North America SETAC meeting in November 

  • First Place:  Jenena Ivanova (St. Cloud State), paper titled: "Does Social Hierarchy Modulate Responses of Fish Exposed to Endocrine Disrupters?" co-authored by J. Ivanova, S. Zhang, H. Schoenfuss
  • Runner Up:  Patric Cannif (Loyola University), paper titled: "Ingestion of Microplastic Associated with Green Algae by Daphnia magna: Evidence of No Effect" co-authored by P. Canniff, T. Hoang


2016 Best Student Poster:  A $1,000 award presented by John Weeks (supporter of Award) to support presenting the poster at the 2016 North America SETAC meeting in November.

  • First Place:  Emily Caudill (University of Wisconsin Madison), poster titled: " Interaction of Nanoparticles with Gram-Positive Bacterial Surfaces", co-authored by E. Caudill and J. Pedersen.(picture not available).
  • Runner Up:  Brooke Wilder-Corrigan (Lakeland College), poster titled:  Population Effects of Coal Fly Ash-Exposed Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Fed to Daphnia magna at Low and High Food Concentrations, co-authored by B. Wilder-Corrigan and P. Pickhardt.

    Runner Up:  David Feifarek (St. Cloud State University), paper titled "Vitellogenin, A Biomarker Of Estrogenic Exposure In Fish, Is Modulated By Changing Environmental Conditions


2015 Best Student Poster:  A $1,000 award presented by  Jodi Mohs-Davis, 3M (supporter of Award) to support presenting the poster at the NA SETAC meeting in 2015.

  • First Place:  Jenna Cavallin (University of MN Duluth):  “Assessment Of Wastewater Treatment Plant Effluent Effects On Fish Reproduction”
  • Runner Up:  Ryan Paukert (University of Wisconsin La Crosse):  “Does Embryonic Exposure To Triclosan Impair The Ability of Zebrafish Larvae To Capture Prey?” (picture not available).
